11/8/2023 0 Comments Cat d9g for sale![]() ![]() I would recommend a cat but that's the best dealer support we have. The hydrostat makes it even more efficient then a powershift. It's right around 100 hp and can move a lot of dirt in an hour. We have a hydrostatic drive d5c and love it. The D8 would hog more dirt, but was harder to haul between farms, and was just too big for finish work/small jobs.Įdit to add - I just found this old post on here from when I bought mine with pictures. I used to have a D8k that was 4 times the size, but the Komatsu is a whole lot handier to have around for what you are talking about doing. Komatsu has been great for parts and service. It came from a local landfill with millions of hours. I don't have a picture and don't remember the model for sure, but I think it is a D-55px? I have a medium sized Komatsu and love it. It amazes me how well the resale holds up on old Cat's. On cats, I've only ever run 6 way blades, is there a way to everything with a big C frame cat can't do that a 6 way can do? Would this do all that I want it to do, or will it be disappointing compared to the tractor?Īny weak points on the little Komatsu's? I'm only familiar with Cat's and JD's, know nothing about these. ![]() I can't seem to wrap my head around 106 HP being able to accomplish much, I currently have 210 engine HP 2WD pushing a 10 foot 2 way blade, and I wouldn't want to move dirt with it. I see a Komatsu D41P-6 rated at 106 engine HP for sale, has the 6 way and sweeps. ![]() I'm convinced that I can move dirt faster and cheaper with the truck, than pushing it, even on a very short distance, so won't be doing too much of that. Any serious dirt work, or big trees, I already have a 325 Cat Hoe, but stripping is slow and arduous with it, as is small brush. Main uses will be stripping and replacing top soil for any drainage/ levelling earth moving projects, form ditches, clearing and piling smaller bush, spreading dirt and manure piles in the fields, moving snow, levelling field ridges and other finishing work. I'd really like it to have a 6 way blade, and sweeps (extended canopy for falling trees ) Beyond that, I'm not too fussy. I've been looking for a dozer for use on the farm only, constantly making improvements and it is easy to justify the cost of the equipment to make more land, compared to buying more land at this time and place. ![]() West Central Alberta Coldest, wettest edge Posted 01:52 (#5475620) Subject: What size dozer cat for around the farm?
